About
About this site
This website is my attempt to coagulate some of my thoughts and some of the various bits and pieces of knowledge about watches floating out there on the web into a place where they might become more static and useful. Having them posted and collected here will also allow me to go back and add to and correct items as necessary.
As well, if you have articles or writings about watches that are looking for a home somewhere on the web, you're more than welcome to send them to me: email me. All contributions of course will be properly credited.
About the Ads
Yes, there are ads on the website. The revenue stream so far has been limited to about a cheeseburger's worth a month if it helps assuage your annoyance. I'm not getting rich off this site.
I do apologize that there are so many ads on the site right now. I'm still trying to get a feel for what works and what doesn't and I eventually hope to pare them back to a saner level. Understanding in the interim is appreciated.
I also cannot bear responsibility for what appears in the content of the ads, as they're provided by various publishers. Content in this site should not be taken as an endorsement of any particular seller unless otherwise noted. As always, caveat emptor.
For Sale
From time to time I may post a "for sale" section when I have a watch or two that I've decided to sell. In many ways "catch and release" is just a part of the hobby, sending under-loved watches on to new homes. These are private, individual sales and I have no intention of becoming a dealer or turning the site into a deliberate or permanent commercial endeavor.
Questions, Comments and Inquiries
I try to reply to every question I get through the site with a response. However, I'm not always able to reply to all of them.
I usually don't respond to questions about the X-33 that I feel are answered within the article. Though I like the X-33, the volume of questions is considerable, most of my relevant knowledge is already in the article, and I ultimately decided the X-33 wasn't "me" and sold mine anyway. If I don't respond to your X-33 question, try looking through the article or using the search function to find the answer.
Also, I have decided to no longer reply to requests about X-33 group purchases from people who don't seem to be qualified (i.e., not military pilots); they've simply grown tedious at this point. I'm still glad to help qualified aviators who can provide a .mil email address.
About Me
I've been collecting watches for about seven years now. Though I've gained some knowledge in a few focused areas, I still consider myself a student in the field. My collecting interests are all over the place and though I don't deliberately constrain or limit my focus, I've found that vintage watches (especially Omega) and vintage military watches are what make up the bulk of my collecting interests and research.
